The Kempe Gowda Trail ​

 A chieftain who dreamt of a treasure, unearthed it and built a brand new fort city! A son who strengthened the fort and set up watch towers around the city to safeguard his kingdom – the Kempegowdas of Bengaluru & Magadi have many tales to tell. This trail is a story of them and their achievements.

In the Kempegowda trail, we explore the life and times of Kempegowda's family, their origin, earlier settlements, their Bengaluru and other places associated with Kempegowdas.

From the early capital of Yelahanka, the trail takes us to one of the Kempegowda watch towers, and then to their Bengaluru fort city.  After we explore the old city of Bengaluru we make our way to one of the old keres(tanks) built during their reign and then wind our way to a city museum that showcases Kempegowda I's life and achievements. 

The trail is guaranteed to be informative and fun giving you a peek into the story of Kempegowdas of Bengaluru and Magadi.

Venue: Venugopala swamy temple, near Yelahanka BMTC depot
Duration: 7-8 hours

Attractions: Venugopala swamy temple, Watch towers of Kempegowda, old city area and Kempegowda museum
