With a story older than Hampi, it is also the holy place, Kishkinda, from the great Hindu epic Ramayana—a place fought for by the mighty monkey king Vali, in a jealous rage, with his brother Sugreeva. It’s also home to pre-historic cave drawings, rural landscape and rocky ruins.
